

Kathleen Brown Daniel was called home to the Lord on Friday, September 6 while surrounded by her loving family. Kathleen was born Oct 19, 1946 and was a resident of Prairieville, LA for most of her life. A graduate of the 1964 class of Dutchtown High, she held numerous jobs in bookkeeping throughout her life. She was a devoted mother and wife. Kathleen was an active member of St. John the Evangelist and enjoyed the Festival de la Prairie every year. She was an excellent cook, an avid reader and a notorious cheat at Scrabble & Bourre. Kathleen enjoyed dancing and listening to music with her friends. She will forever be remembered as Mawmaw Kat by her granddaughters, Poot Nanny by her nieces and nephews, best friend to Sue Ferrari, Veronica LeBlanc, Jerry Lambert, Diane Bourque, and Kathy Landen (deceased), and Ma to her boys. Kathleen is survived by her two sons, Ty Edwards and John Edwards (Julie); grandchildren, Texanna Pereira (Curtis), Maggie Edwards, Sophia Edwards and Ellie Edwards; great-grandchildren, Gunner and Gage; Siblings William “Whip” Brown (Janine), Adele “Dele” Frederic (Ronald); and sister-in-law, Claire Paxton Brown; Uncle Harold Braud and family; several wonderful nieces and nephews and family friend Mike Deveer. Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents, Thompson Brown, Sr and Mayola Brown; her husband, Robert “Harry” Daniel; and her brother, Thompson Brown, Jr. Visitation and Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. John the Evangelist Church in Prairieville on Saturday, September 14, 2024 beginning at 8:30am until Mass at 11am. Burial to follow at Serenity Oaks Memorial Park. The Rosary will be recited at 9:30am. The family will be forever grateful to the staff at Francois Bend for their caring dedication to Kathleen in her final months, especially Reshawn Henderson. Eternally grateful to the team from St. Joseph’s Hospice for keeping her comfortable in her final days, especially Amelie and Jaime. Fr. Charles Landry for his years of friendship and going above and beyond when called to ensure Kathleen was anointed. Kathleen’s strength and courage in her last days will serve to motivate her family and friends to keep and grow their faith in Christ.
