Dathan, Rebekah + Miriam,

My condolences for your loss. It’s probably been 15 years since I’ve seen your dad, but he would always send encouraging messages to me on LinkedIn.

I have lots of great memories around Mr. Kevin when we were littles, but I especially remember his ski exercise machine and him saying he wouldn’t tell my parents I watched an episode of Doug (forbidden) with Dathan.

Much love to you all in this difficult time.

Dathan, Rebekah and Miriam, we were so sad to hear about your dad passing away. We enjoyed spending time with him during our Bible study groups at Faith. He was always so soft spoken, funny and kind. He was always a blessing to be around and spend time with . You all are in our hearts and prayers.

Vic and I have known Kevin for over 40 years. Our children grew up together, and we have worshipped the Lord and served Father God together for many years. We have fond memories of camping trips, and many fellowships over our lifetime. We have always had a lot of love and respect for Kevin. It is comforting to know he is Home with Jesus. We pray for all his children and grandchildren, as well as his family that will miss him greatly.

I will truly miss this dear, sweet man of God. We started off day one together at St. Theresa of Avila, all through graduation at E. A. We lost touch for some years after graduating, but were reunited by way of Facebook. (I married a Cajun and have lived in the Lafayette area since November of '73.) I was blessed to have Kevin visit me in early 2014, while I was doing physical rehabbing in the hospital, here in Lafayette. Last year, we were delight to get to visit with him at Sammy's Restaurant, where we invited him for lunch. Then, Kevin came to visit us again in a Lafayette hospital, as my husband was in physical rehab, following a long illness. Besides being classmates, Kevin and I are cousins. His grandfather was my daddy's Uncle Charlie. (My parents are Ed and Audrey Braud). Uncle Charlie taught my dad how to cook jambalaya at the age of eleven. My daddy went on to publish a cookbook called, "Black Iron and Cajun Spice." Daddy loved and thought very highly of Uncle Charlie and wrote about him in the cookbook. My husband and I always kept Kevin and the family lifted in prayer, especially in recent years, with John's death, with Ferrill's terrible health battle, with the birth, life and death of precious little Elouise and the ICU stay of another of the beautiful granddaughters. He loved his family more than words could say. Kevin was a fierce prayer warrior, and one of the first people I would go to, for my family's prayer needs. He spoke to my mama, daddy, my brother and his family, not long ago, while at Galvez Seafood. That man loved his seafood! Even though he wasn't able to eat the kind of starches and sweets he craved, I admired that he found delicious, healthy recipes to substitute. He surely knew his way around the stove and black pots! He was hoping to get over this way again soon, to cook us one of his wonderful jambalayas and beans. Hey, Kev, I'll take you up on that, when we meet at that big banquet table in the sky! I love you!
