Lavern Elizabeth Bent

Lavern was a dedicated and hardworking woman whose career as a housekeeper reflected her strong sense of care, humility, and commitment to others. She took pride in creating warm, welcoming spaces and was known for her kindness and quiet strength.

She will be deeply missed by her loving family. Lavern is survived by her devoted husband, Kenrick Bent; her mother, Dorette Powell; her children, Lashanna McIntosh, Kenrick Bent Jr., Ava Bent, and Kimora Bent; and her sister, Novelette James Steele. She also leaves behind extended family members and friends who will cherish her memory.

Lavern was preceded in death by her father, Charles Bent.

Her life was a testament to love, resilience, and devotion to family. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her unwavering support for those she loved, and the lasting impact she made on all who knew her.

A Celebration of Life service will take place at1:30 PM on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Ourso Funeral Home in Gonzales, LA. This will be followed by a Committal Service at Cornerview Cemetery in Gonzales, LA.
