

A native of Good Hope and resident of Prairieville, she passed away Sunday, March 24, 2013 at the age of 74. Linda loved working in her yard, gardening, and spending time with her family. She was a graduate of Southeastern University, where she earned a degree in Early Education. She taught at various Catholic Schools, and eventually retired from Metro Enterprise after 23 years of service. There, she worked as a social worker in Special Needs Education. After retiring, she became even more involved in her community with St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Prairieville and the Ladies Altar Society. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Stacy and Mike Smith, Renee’ and Eric Beal; grandchildren, Lauren, Garrett and Lexi Smith, Kylie and Courtney Beal; sisters, Norma Joubert, Marion Rochelle; and brother, Bruce Rochelle. Preceded in death by her husband, Larry Melancon; parents, Linda Bujol and George Rochelle; and brothers, Nolan and Wendall Rochelle. There will be a visitation at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Prairieville, Wednesday, March 27, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. until a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. with Rev.
