Lloyd Franklin Clift

Lloyd Franklin Clift age 84, passed from his earthly home on September 10, 2014 to be with his Lord and Savior at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Gonzales. Lloyd suffered from chronic lung disease. At the time of his death , he was surrounded by family and friends. In his 84 years, Lloyd led an exemplary life. He was kind, honest and loving. He loved life and the challenges it brought. He will be missed greatly.Lloyd was born in Flat, Missouri on January 23, 1930 to Franklin Edward and Clara Lewis Clift, who preceded Mr. Clift in death. He also was preceded in death by his two sons Jerry Lloyd and Jerald James Clift. Lloyd worked for Boyce Machinery for 37 yrs. at which time the company was sold. He was highly respected and loved by his peers, administrators, and employees. Lloyd then started Clift Equipment which he operated for several years. He loved the outdoors.Lloyd is survived by his loving wife Sheila Coleman Clift of 33 years. He was “the love of her life” . They were married on December 4, 1981 in Gonzales, LA. and were also members of Ascension Baptist Church in Gonzales, LA.. Lloyd is survived by his brother Clyde and his wife Fran Clift of Garland, TX. These persons were very special to Lloyd and he loved them dearly: sister-in-law Brenda and husband , Jeff Payne of Graceville, FL. ; niece Courtney and husband Jordan Copeland of Pensacola, FL.; niece Lauren and husband Corey Reeves of Pensacola, FL.; and niece Anna Catherine Payne at Stetson University, DeLand, FL.; niece Dawn and husband Roger Cole of Barnesville, GA.; nephews Dale and Patti Clift of Moore, South Carolina and Darrell and Elisha Clift of Jacksonville, FL. ; his beloved dog Chloe and a host of friends and family. Pallbearers will be Dale Clift, Roger Cole, Jordan Copeland, Cloyd “Cowboy” Holton, Bill Lot and Jeff Payne. Honorary Pallbearers will be John Boyce and Jim Hatfield. Visitation will be held at Ourso Funeral Home-13533 Airline Hwy. ,Gonzales, LA.; on Friday Sept. 12, 2014 from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm and will resume on Saturday, September 13, 2014 from 12:00 pm until religious services at 2:00 pm.
