Lloyd John Hebert

Lloyd John Hebert, born October 15, 1948, passed away peacefully after a battle with cancer and pneumonia on October 5, 2025. He was married to his high school sweetheart, Sharon McCrory Hebert, for almost 58 years.

Lloyd was a graduate of East Ascension High School, Class of 1967. He completed the Millwright Apprenticeship Program at Baton Rouge Vo-Tech and was a proud member of Millwright Local 720 of Baton Rouge for over 50 years. He also assisted his wife in her real estate business for 43 years.

He loved riding horses, spending time with his friends and family, dancing to swamp pop music, drinking his Coors Light, playing the baritone saxophone, and lending a hand to anyone in need.

He had the most gentle soul and loved everyone unconditionally.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin “Pete” Hebert Sr. and Lena Hebert; sister, Dolores Diez; brother, Carroll “Snag” Hebert; father- and mother-in-law, Loy “Sonny” McCrory and Mary “Sister” McCrory; and sister-in-law, Marilyn Balfantz.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon McCrory Hebert; son and daughter-in-law, Trampas and Jayann Hebert; daughter and son-in-law, Wendi and Omar Rodriguez; granddaughter, Rylie Hebert (Ray Borne); grandsons, Aaron and Dylan Rodriguez, and Evan Chandler (Sarah Chandler); great-grandchildren, Raegan and Luke Chandler; brother, Melvin Hebert Jr. (Norma Burns); and sister, Carolyn Sholar (Glen Sholar).

Pallbearers will be Trampas Hebert, Omar Rodriguez, Dwight Braud, Larry Babin, Roy Deveer, and Fred Waites. Honorary pallbearer is Melvin Hebert Jr.

Visitation will be held at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Prairieville, La., on Saturday, October 11, 2025, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. A Mass will follow from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with burial immediately after at the mausoleum. All are welcome to join and celebrate his life afterward at the St. John Activity Center.
