Kevin and Keith, sorry for your loss and we love your dad and will miss him. Still miss Aunt Eunice. They were an awesome couple! One thing that can bring comfort is thinking about them spending time together in heaven and rejoicing! Can you imagine the joy of seeing each other again! Love & prayers! Kay 

Kevin & Keith…I’m so sorry for your loss and can only imagine the pain you’re going through. Losing a parent is so hard as I have been there. Uncle Sonny and Aunt Eunice both were very special. I am so thankful for the time I had with Uncle Sonny and the times we got to visit on the phone with him. I could also count on him for prayer. He was a wonderful man who loved Jesus and loved his family! For those who know Jesus and go to heaven… On earth we temporarily say “bye” but can see our saved loved ones again one day and that is the hope that we have! So really it’s like saying…”see you later and enjoy having until I get there!” I Love you both and here if you need to ever call or text. Love, Kay 

The world is a sadder place now but there is rejoicing in heaven. Please accept our heartfelt condolences in the passing of Mr. Sonny.  Mr. Sonny was a good friend to my dad Kenneth. They worked together at Uniroyal for years and shared many memories during their visits together. 
Mr. Sonny was one of the kindest men I’ve ever met.
He will surely be missed.


So sorry for your loss. Sonny was a kind and funny man, never heard him raise his voice or utter a mean word. I worked with Sonny for a long time at the plant and will miss seeing him.

Kevin, Keith, your dad was truly a man of God and a friend to everyone he met. He was a kind and gentle soul. He will be sorely missed. But we can only imagine the heavenly celebration he is experiencing at this very moment. My love and prayers are with you and your families.

Bobby and I loved your dad (Sonny) and your mom (Eunice). They were wonderful friends and neighbors for 28 years.  You couldn't hope for a better neighbor than Sonny. We all loved him and all our pets just loved him so much. We will surely miss him! I pray that God brings you peace and comfort, especially knowing he is in the presence of Jesus and his beloved Eunice.

I worked with Sonny for many years at Uniroyal. He was great to work with, and I always considered him a friend.  My deepest  condolences.

He is Survived by sons, Kevin Mayers (Crystal), Keith Mayers (Lorena); grandchildren, Nicholas Mayers, Collin Mayers, Katie Mayers, Ethan Mayers, Katrielle Mayers; sister, Nell Parker and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.


He was preceded in death by his wife of more than 50 years, Eunice Lofton Mayers; parents, Lloyd and Annie Lanoux Mayers and his sister, Annie Laura Chaney.
