

A native of French Settlement, born December 9, 1928, and resident of Gonzales, she passed away Friday, October 5, 2012 at the age of 83. Lucille worked at the Gonzales Garment Factory, Blue Runner Canning Factory and retired from West Gibson Department Store and along with her husband Ivan, founded and ran Lessard Water Works. Despite her many pursuits, her main career was wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She is survived by a son, Jerry Savoy and wife Mary; daughter, Peggy Van Metre and husband, Wayne; grandsons, Joey Van Metre and wife, Stephanie, Chris Savoy and wife, Michele, Michael Van Metre and wife, Jennifer; granddaughter, Beth Savoy and Dr. Gray Bailey; great granddaughters, Sophie and Sydney Van Metre; great step-grandsons, Matthew Derise, Dylan Pitre, Ian Stokes; and a great step-granddaughter, Claire Derise. She is preceded in death by husbands, Harry L. Savoy Jr. in 1968, and Joseph Ivan Lessard in 2012; parents, Felix and Bertine Loupe; sisters, Mae Del Savoy and Margaret Braud. There will be a visitation at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, Sunday, October 7, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will resume at the funeral home Monday, October 8, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Following, there will be a Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in St. Amant at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Jon Koehler, celebrant. Interment will be in Lake Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chris Savoy, Dr. Gray Bailey, Joey Van Metre, Michael Van Metre, Tod Braud, and Vernon Alleman.
