A resident of Gonzales and retired instrumentation technician, he passed away on Friday, January 25, 2013 at his home surrounded by family. He was a native of White Castle and a 1957 graduate of Ascension Catholic. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Visiting will be at St. Mark Catholic Church, Gonzales on Monday, January 28, 2013 from 9am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am. Burial to follow in Ficklin Cemetery, Gonzales. He is survived by his wife, Betty Parent; three daughters, Christine Didier and husband Darren, Denham Springs, Celeste Hughes and husband George, Houston, TX, and Shannon Peabody and husband Rich, Gonzales; five sons, Michael Simoneaux, Prairieville, Ron Simoneaux and wife Dana, Gonzales, Blaine Simoneaux and wife Rhonda, Bayou Pigeon, Bret Parent and wife Charmaine, Ethel and Lance and Alison Parent, Gonzales; two sisters, Marilyn Daigle and husband Dennis, White Castle and Donna Medine and husband Evans, Gonzales; a brother, Frank Simoneaux and wife Sandra, Magnolia, TX; 18 grandchildren, Kristin, Matthew, Lauren and Jacob Simoneaux, Chase Mayers, Danielle and Layne Didier, Ty Bateman, Cody Truax, Kelly Kling, Brandon LeBlanc, Brooke and B.J. Parent, Hayden, Mason and Taylor Peabody and Austin and Collin Parent; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Nita Claire Schmidt Simoneaux; parents, Lynn Paul Simoneaux, Sr. and Lena Hidalgo Simoneaux. Pallbearers will be Chase Mayers, Ty Bateman, Cody Truax, B.J. Parent, Matthew Simoneaux, and Brian Simoneaux. Lynn was an avid sports fan, especially of LSU. He enjoyed working his garden, fishing and those trips to the casino with family. He also never missed an opportunity to see his grandkids playing sports. He was a great man and will be truly missed by his loving family and those who knew him. The family would like to thank Dr. Stagg and his staff and the staff of St. Joseph Hospice.
