Margaret Daniel Rountree

Margaret Daniel Rountree, age 97, passed away peacefully at The Carpenter House on Friday, March 20, 2015. She was a native of Starhill, LA, and resident of Gonzales, LA. Margaret was an avid reader and enjoyed playing cards and talking on the phone. She loved and cherished all of her friends and family. Margaret is survived by her son, Rev. Joseph Rountree Jr. and wife, Judy; brother, Edward I Daniel II; son-in-law, Ronnie Phillips; grandchildren, Ashley Phillips and wife, Jamie; Kevin Phillips and wife, Amy; Rhonda Phillips-Painter and husband, Troy; great-grandchildren, Justin, Brandon and Ryan Phillips, Cullen, Carson, and Lila Phillips, Phillip, Katie, and Jacob Painter. Margaret is preceded in death by her parents, Robert Harry Daniel, Sr. and May Young Daniel; husband, Joseph Rountree Sr.; Daughter, Katherine Phillips; brother, Robert Harry Daniel, Jr. Visitation will be held at Ourso Funeral Home of Gonzales on Monday, March 23, 2015, from 10:00 am until service time at 12:00 pm.
