Ms Marie Cecile (Babin) Bourque

Marie Babin Bourque, a lifelong resident of Duplessis, LA. passed away on Thursday February 8, 2018 at the age of 78. Marie is survived by her children Johnny Bourque and wife Cindy, Jacques Bourque and wife Peggy, Jolie Bourque Childers and husband Kevin. Marie leaves behind six grandchildren, Ashley Painter, Hope Braud, Devon Bourque, Blaine Bourque, Cody Dufour and Renton Childers. ; four great- grandchildren, Brooklyn Painter, Clayton Painter, Avery Braud and Evan Braud . Brothers Clyde Babin, Tommy Babin and sister Joyce DeVaux. Marie was preceded in death by her husband V.J.”Brush” Bourque, Jr. ,father, Ray Babin and mother , Gladys Babin Wilzbach and sister, Agnes Keller.

Marie’s passion was tending to her large collection of plants , feeding the wildlife living around her home and spending time with family and friends at numerous luncheons.

A visitation will begin on Sunday Feb. 11, 2018 at Ourso Funeral Home in Gonzales, LA. from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Visitation will resume on Monday February 12, 2018 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Prairieville, LA. 9:30 am until a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am celebrated by Rev. Jerry Martin. Entombment will follow at the Hope Haven Garden of Memories Cemetery , Prairieville, LA. . Serving as pallbearers will be Jerrod Couvillion, Jerry “Rusty” Sevant, Jr. , Devon Bourque, Blaine Bourque, Cody Dufour and Renton Childers.
