

Marjorie “Patsy” Rita Naquin Richardson passed into the arms of our Lord at 1:16 pm on Monday, June 13, 2022 at the age of 100. She was born on September 4, 1921 in Sorrento, LA. She was a resident of Gonzales, LA. She spent most of her adult life in Baton Rouge. Patsy was a loving and giving wife, mother, and friend. She was a Cub Scout pack leader. She volunteered at her parish of St. Gerard Majella. She also volunteered in the school cafeteria and at the church fair. She was a 58 year member of the Catholic Daughters of America, a member of St. Mark Catholic Church and participated in many church ministries. She was most proud of the fact her 3 children graduated from Redemptorist High School. Patsy loved to travel and camp. Along with her husband Gail, they saw all 50 states, Canada and Mexico. With her being a lover of history, a lot of their travels would include historical sites.
She is survived by her loving husband of 81 years, Gail Woodrow Richardson; two sons, Jimmie Gail Richardson, Stephen Hillary Richardson (Robin); 14 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 6 great great-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, Angelina Naquin and Lucille Billie Naquin. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and her precious friends, Bill and Debbie Bliek.
She is preceded in death by her parents, James Mitchell, Sr. and Alma Anita Parent Naquin; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, James Arthur and Ada Stella Harrell Richardson; daughter, Rosemary Richardson Parker and son-in-law Floyd Parker; daughter-in-law, Beverly Clark Richardson; brothers, James Mitchell Naquin, Jr. (Shirley), George Harold Naquin, Charles Melvin Naquin, Sr., Joseph Alvin Naquin (Betty), and Paul Murphy Naquin (Karen); sister, Joyce Marie Naquin; brothers-in-law, Willie Albert DeArmond (Clara), Delton Richardson (Lydia), Louis Richardson (Ruth); sisters-in-law, Sammie Bernell Robbins (Leroy), Vera Hebert (Henry), Vergie Electra Tanner (Ballard); grandsons, Michael Everette Parker and Stephen Hilary Richardson, Jr; great-granddaughter, Evangeline Rose Parker; and dear friends, Joe and Rose Warner.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mark Catholic Church, 42021 Highway 621, Gonzales, Louisiana 70737, on Friday, June 17, 2022 at 11:00 am. Visitation will be held prior to mass, from 9:00-11:00 am. Interment will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park Cemetery, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA 70815. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to Boys Town and St, Joseph’s Indian School.
