

Born in St. Amant on October 24, 1941, Mathew was the son of the late Rosalie Ann Moran and Telesmar Paul Moran, Sr. He attended St. Amant High School and spent his career as a pipefitter and carpenter. Mathew took great pride in his craftsmanship and had a lifelong passion for carpentry. After retiring from his career, he went on to own Grace’s Lounge for many years until full retirement.
Mathew was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He is survived by his children, Tracy (Randy) Benzine, Terrell (Melissa) Moran, and Todd Moran. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Bryce Benzine, Jamie Moran White, Jada Moran, Jennifer Faulkner, Taylor (Justin) Thomas; great grandchildren, Baylor White, Ellianna White, Kace Rouyea, Emmorie Thomas, Talon Thomas, Addie Faulkner, and Aidyn Faulkner; his siblings, Myrtis Berthelot, Ronald (Catherine) Moran, Ralph (Cheryl) Moran, Constance (David) Frederic and Kathy (Randy) Moran; sisters-in-law Bernadine Moran and Diana Moran along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will miss him dearly.
Matthew was preceded in death by his parents, Rosalie Ann Moran and Telesmar Paul Moran, Sr.; brothers, Telesmar Moran, Jr. and Thomas Moran; grandson, Hunter Roberts; brother-in-law, Jimmy Berthelot; nephew, Troy Berthelot; and niece, Rhonda Murphy
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Mathew’s life on Friday, August 14, 2026, at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 44450 Hwy 429, Saint Amant, LA, 70774. Visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. and a Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m. followed by interment in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Paul Kerek, Damian Kerek, Scott Frederic-Wilson, Mike Berthelot, Kyle Moran, and Brandt Moran. Honorary pallbearers will be Brandon Moran and Kace Rouyea.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Old Jefferson Community Care Center for all the care they gave to Mathew, especially Tinka Ealy.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to Full of Grace Café in Mathew’s memory.
