Mayola Marie Braud Brown

Mayola Marie Braud Brown, born in Baton Rouge and resident of Hope Villa, LA, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at her home on Thursday, October 8, 2020 at the age of 94. Mayola was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister, who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She also loved quilting, sewing, and always enjoyed watching a good baseball game. She is survived by daughters, Kathleen Daniel and Adele Frederic (Ronnie); son, William “Whip” Brown (Janine); daughter-in-law, Claire Brown; brother, who Mayola raised as her own son, Harold Braud (Vera); grandchildren, Ty Edwards, John Edwards (Julie), Darah DeLaneuville (Randy), Darci Landry (Scott), Kim Brown, Justin Tureau (Heather), Jason Tureau,Tara Dearing (Daniel), Stephen Frederic, Kayla Gachter (Lance); great grandchildren, Randi and Rilan DeLaneuville, Maggie, Sophia, Ellie, Texanna Edwards, Blakeli, Kaydi, Kyndall Landry, Justin, Evan Dearing, Wesley Frederic, Natalie, Jolie Tureau and Wiley Gachter, who is on the way; great-great grandchildren, Gunner Brown and Gage Edwards. She is preceded in death by her husband, Thompson Brown, Sr.; son, Thompson Brown, Jr.; parents, Frank and Nezida Braud; 3 sisters and 3 brothers; son-in-law, Harry Daniel. Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 11, 2020 at Ourso Funeral Home of Gonzales from 5pm until 8pm. Visitation will resume on Monday, October 12, 2020 at Ourso Funeral Home of Gonzales from 8am until 10:30 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Prairieville at 11am. Interment will follow at Prairieville Community Cemetery. Randy DeLaneuville, Scott Landry, Stephen Frederic, John Edwards, Lance Gachter, Ronald Braud will serve as pallbearers. Harold Braud, Justin Tureau, Jason Tureau, Larry Edwards, Daniel Dearing, Evan Dearing, Justin Dearing, Ty Edwards, and Wesley Frederic will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family would like to thank Ray Banker and his entire staff at Audubon Hospice for their compassion and care. In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Audubon Hospice. Awe, so sorry to hear about Mrs. Mayola’s passing. She was such an inspiration to me. I have many fond memories of her and truly loved her.
