Melody Lauren Seward

Born on May 20, 1993, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to Donald and Sharon Seward, she grew up in the Gonzales and St. Amant, Louisiana area. She graduated with honors from St. Amant High School and from there went to ULL in Lafayette and received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. In December of 2024 she received her Doctorate of Nursing Practice: Nurse Anesthesia from South College in Knoxville, Tennessee. She grew to be a remarkable individual who radiated warmth and friendship. She will be remembered not only for her professional accomplishments but also for her gentle spirit, infectious laughter, unyielding kindness, expressive personality, and courageous nature.

Melody devoted herself tirelessly to the field of nursing, positively impacting the lives of countless colleagues and patients. She exemplified compassion and dedication in her work, leaving an indelible mark on her community. Melody was a beacon of energy and intelligence in every endeavor she pursued.

Melody was an adventurous spirit with a zest for life. From a young age, she immersed herself in the joys of swimming and travel, with a special love for visiting Disney every year, where she created cherished memories filled with laughter and enchantment. She was effortlessly chic, leaving a trail of elegance wherever she went. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Her vibrant personality drew people in, and she had a unique ability to forge connections, making friends wherever she went. To know her is to love her. She will be greatly missed by all.

Her memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of her loving parents, Donald and Sharon Seward; siblings, Lyle Seward, Daniel Seward (wife Tanya Seward), Lori Moliere (husband Corey Moliere); nieces and nephews, Allison Seward, Daxton Seward, Seth Hillegass, Cailey Rebollar (husband Tomas Rebollar); great nieces and nephews, Christian Hillegass, Brayan Rebollar, Alivia Rebollar; aunts and uncles, Georgia Seward, John and Charlotte Seward, Jim and Kathy Seward, Werner Schaffhauser III, Kathy and Kelly Namour; cousins, Charlotte Aubert (husband Matt), Shelby Seward (wife Lyssa), Wyatt Seward, Della Seward, Georgia Jean Seward, Eden Seward, Steven Seward (wife Tiffany and Niki & Lily), Kacey Jones (husband Scott David), Claire Jones, Piper Jones, Kolleen Elbert (husband Justin), as well as many extended family members and friends; and her beloved pup, Scoot.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Werner and Eileen Schaffhauser; paternal grandparents, Irwin and Katharyn Seward; cousin, John O. Seward; sister-in-law, Katherine Quebedeaux Seward; cousin, George David Zimmerman; uncle, Donald Zimmerman, and her adored pup, Oliver.

A Service will be held at Ourso Funeral Home in the Cypress Room at 11:00am, 13533 Airline Hwy, Gonzales, LA 70737, followed by a Celebration of Life until 2:30pm on Saturday, March 7, 2026. Please come and share your fond memories.
