Michael Thomas Covington

I Have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing.

Michael Thomas Covington, age 70, a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and a resident of Gonzales, Louisiana went home to be with the Lord on June 4, 2025. Michael graduated from Louisiana State University, and was dedicated to his career in sales for over 43 years. He started his own company, Covington Sales and Marketing. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 42 years, Madonna Sharpe Covington; daughters, Kristin Bedard (Brock), and Brooke Brock (late Rory); grandchildren, Jackson Laudun, Ryker Brock, Miles Bedard, Stella Bedard; and sister, Lillian Caldwell. Michael cherished the time that he spent with his grandchildren. He loved the Lord, and devoted his time to various ministries. He taught a Men's Bible Study Group, Sunday School, he was a Board Member for the church and school. He was head usher, a greeter, and alter worker. He was preceded in death by his parents, Milton Thomas Covington and Nida Noland Covington; and sisters, Marcella Grubbs and Beverly Bonifay. The services for Michael will be held on Friday, June 13, 2025 at Ourso Funeral Home, 13533 Airline Hwy, Gonzales, La 70737. The visitation will be from 9 am until the funeral service at 11 am. The burial will be at Serenity Oaks Memorial Park, 15304 Hwy 73, Prairieville, La 70769.
