It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mildred Virginia Walls, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Millie passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 23, 2023, just 4 days after turning 88 years old. Millie was known for her passion for gardening, her love of dark chocolate, her devotion to family, and her outgoing nature. Millie was best known for her sass and spunk. Always sociable, she never met a stranger. Her house was always filled with visitors, friends, family, and music. She lived a fulfilling life before the onset of Alzheimer's disease. Strong and determined throughout her illness, Millie always brightened when visited by friends and family despite the progressive nature of her disease. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifton and Ada Maples of Mount Hermon, Louisiana; her infant daughter, Sherry Walls; her son, Michael Walls, her beloved husband, Jimmie Dee Walls and her siblings Dual Maples and Elaine Westmoreland. Millie is survived by her sister, Linda Maples; her son, Jimmie Dean Walls (Cathy); her daughter, Denise Lunday (Edward); and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Millie will be remembered for her love of life and infectious humor. She is already greatly missed by all who knew and cherished her. Her memory will always be “on our mind” and in our heart. The family would like to extend gratitude to the Memory Care staff of Silver Oaks Health and Rehab. Ctr. in Camden, Arkansas for the care and attention they extended to Millie during the last few years of her life as she battled Alzheimer's. A private service will be held in Mt. Hermon, Louisiana, for family and friends to honor and celebrate her life.Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.oursofh.com for the Walls family.
