

Milton John "Needlenose" Vicknair passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2017 at the age of 79. Born on July 30, 1938. He was a native of Paulina, Louisiana and graduated from Lutcher High School. He and his family moved to the Town of Sorrento in 1974. He worked at Colonial Sugars where he was president of the union for 14 years. Milton was a political figure in Ascension Parish for 40 years including Town Alderman of Sorrento, Ascension Parish Councilman, and Sorrento Town Councilman. He was an avid LSU fan and hunter, but most of all enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and helping his fellow neighbors. Milton is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Dora Lee Vicknair of Garyville, daughter Charlotte Bourgeois (Randall), and sons Todd (Dawn) and Scottie. Grandchildren Kristal and Garrett Bourgeois. He is also survived by his brothers: Leroy (Shirley), Herman (Regina), Gerald (Leona), and Wayne (Dorothy), along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Noé and Elma Vicknair; his beloved son; Ched Vicknair, siblings: Charlie, Lester, Wilton, Roland, Harry, Larry, Harold, Jesse, Hubert, Clerfet, Noella, Geraldine, Brenda, and Tim. Pallbearers will be Randall Bourgeois, Garrett Bourgeois, Don Gonzales, Darrin St. Pierre, Kirt Jackson, and Gary Bourgeois. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny, Leroy, Herman, Gerald, and Wayne Vicknair, Ed LeBlanc, Gary Blank, Earl Millet, and Randy Anny. Visitation will be held at Ourso Funeral Home in Gonzales from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Friday, January 5, 2018. Visitation will resume at St. Anne Catholic Church in Sorrento on January 6, 2018 from 9:30 a.m. until mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. Celebrated by Father Kim Soo Lee. Entombment to follow at Holy Rosary Catholic Church cemetery in St. Amant. Arrangements under the direction of Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, LA.
