Nolan Paul Duplessis
May 19, 1935 – November 27, 2013
A native of Dutchtown, Louisiana and resident of Debary, Florida, passed away Wednesday, November 27th, 2013 at home, at the age of 78. He was a proud Marine Corp veteran and retired from Greyhound Bus Line after 36 years. He was very active in the Optimist Club for many years. His love & passion was his wife & his children & all his grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing every chance he could & returning to live on Manchac Bayou where his heart & soul always thrived. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Grace G. Duplessis Children; Gregory P. Duplessis & wife Teri, Jacquelyn Duplessis Jones & husband Jim Grandchildren; Christine Owens, Geoffrey P. Duplessis and Ashley Jones Great grandchildren; Kayleigh Herr, Eric Herr and Jarred Rohr Brothers and sisters-in-law; OJ Duplessis & Eva, Ivy Duplessis & Ruth, sister-in-law Lelia Duplessis Sisters and brother-in-laws; Ida Mae Coon, Marie Bordelon & Richard Also survived by numerous nieces & nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Theofield Duplessis, his mother Eunice King Duplessis and brother Julian Duplessis. There will be a visitation at Ourso Funeral Home in Gonzales, Louisiana Thursday, December 5th, 2013, from 5:00pm until 9:00pm. Visitation will resume at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Prairieville on Friday, Dec. 6, from 9:30am until a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am, with Father Tony Russo & Father Eric Guyan & Deacon Brent Duplessis, con-celebrants. Entombment will follow in Hope Haven Garden of Memory Cemetery, Prairieville. Pallbearers will be Kerry Duplessis, Steve Duplessis, Keith Duplessis, Geoffrey Duplessis, Brian Duplessis & James McDonald.

Our warmest thoughts and prayers go out to all of you, in particular Mrs. Duplessis and to my long-time friend Greg. Our loved ones are missed each and every day forever but knowing that they are at peace with the Lord is the reassurance we have to keep our strength every day we are without them.

You will always be the lite of my life & in my heart that keeps me warm & guides me thru my darkest hrs days weeks mths & yrs yet to come.
