Ola Mae Schexnaydre passed away at Ascension Oaks Nursing & Rehabilitation Center on Monday, December 10, 2018. After graduating from Donaldsonville High School, Ola Mae resided in Burnside with her husband, Berthil Schexnaydre, Jr. and raised their six children. She took great pride in her family, and in making sure her home was always comfortable and inviting to anyone who might stop by for a visit. The reaches of her unconditional love were felt by all who knew her, and her graceful and gentle nature were among her many gifts. She will certainly be remembered for her cooking, baking and sewing talents. Ola Mae was a beautiful and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, aunt, daughter, sister, godmother, and sister-in-law. Living survivors include Craig and wife, Debbie; Myles and wife, Nevil; Kim Templet and husband, Edmond; Jeff and wife, Susie; Boyd and wife, Steffi. Grandchildren are Nicholas Allen, Jodi and Ryan Schexnaydre, Alan Schexnaydre and wife, Kacie; Andy Schexnaydre and wife, Amy; Eric Templet and wife, Alisha; Jana T. Boudreaux and husband, Chad; Alicia and Jace Schexnaydre; Justin and wife, Shannon; Sydney S. Hooper and husband, Aaron, and Jake Schexnaydre. Great-grandchildren are Bronx, Avery, Axle and Nixon Schexnaydre; Kannon Kinsley, Kruz and Kase Templet; Natalie and Emilie Vidrine, Kennadie and Charlie Boudreaux; and Blakely Hooper. Ola Mae is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Berthil Schexnaydre, Jr.; daughter, Lynnette Schexnaydre Allen Robert; parents, Wallis J. “Boot” Sr. and Edna Decareaux Waguespack; brothers, Stanford, Wallis Jr., Seymour and Stanley Waguespack; sisters, Mercedes W. Canatella and Lenora W. “Nonie” Dornier. Visitation at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, LA Hwy 22, Darrow LA on Thursday, December 13 from 9am to 11am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am. Entombment in Ascension of Our Lord Mausoleum in Donaldsonville, La. Pallbearers will be Alan, Andy, Ryan, Justin, Jace and Jake Schexnaydre, Eric Templet and Nicholas Allen.
