She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Franklin E. “Bill” Witter and Valmae Manieri Witter; her paternal grandparents, Harold Wallace and Elenor Knaps Markham; and her aunts, Rai Witter Lousteau and Joann Markham Suarez.
Pamela was the loving wife of William Francis Kroeper, III, and the beloved, devoted daughter of Harold “Sonny” and Geraldine “Geri” Witter Markham. She was the adoring mother of her cherished daughter, Annie Grace Kroeper. Pam was a dear sister to Harold “Mark” Markham (Cindy), Amy Lynn Markham, and Glen Witter Markham. She was also a proud and loving aunt to Brianne Markham Dees (Daniel), Alyssa Markham Lahare (Matt), Drew Daniel Markham, William Markham Lantier (Alli), Sydney Markham Hocevar (Ben), Glen Witter “Witt” Markham, Jr., and Noah Benton Markham, all of whom will carry her memory in their hearts.
Pam’s life reflected both dedication and quiet compassion. After earning her bachelor’s degree in business administration from Nicholls State University, she began her career in business, serving with the Louisiana Bar Association and later at the Windsor Court Hotel, where she managed events. Though successful in these roles, Pam felt called to something deeper and more fulfilling. Following her servant heart, she returned to school and earned a master’s degree in Early Childhood Intervention. She went on to enrich the lives of children and families across several parishes, offering patience, kindness, and dignity to each life she touched.
As Pam faced her first journey with cancer, she was supported by the You Night Sisterhood, where she built friendships and received encouragement to battle this awful disease. Her You Night sisters meant so much to her. In 2022, she became an Ambassador for Head & Neck Cancer, embracing the opportunity to share her story with humility, courage, and compassion. Through speaking engagements across the south, Pam offered hope to others, touching many lives with her quiet strength and generous spirit.
When the cancer returned in mid-2025, Pam’s unwavering devotion to her strong Catholic faith helped her fight fiercely for those she loved most. Each day at 3 PM, she prayed the Divine Mercy Chaplet with her parents, a practice that comforted and fortified her spirit. During these special moments, Pam’s beautiful soul was at peace.
Above all, Pam’s greatest joy was her daughter, Annie. Motherhood completed her in a profound way, and she treasured every moment spent together. Pam loved deeply and selflessly, and her gentle spirit left a lasting impression on all who knew her. Her life was a quiet witness to love, and her memory will continue to bless those who were fortunate enough to walk alongside her.
The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center in Baton Rouge, who worked tirelessly to treat Pam; the nurses and staff of Our Lady of the Lake, who comforted Pam and her family; the doctors, nurses, and staff of Baton Rouge General, especially Dr. Caro, who helped navigate the remaining journey; and Clarity Hospice, for providing a peaceful setting for our dear Pam to transition into life everlasting.
Family and friends will be invited to share in a Catholic Mass to celebrate Pam’s remarkable life at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Picayune, MS. Dates and times will be announced to the public once finalized.
