A native of Indiana and a resident of Prairieville, she passed away Sunday, Sept. 25, 2011, at the age of 55. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Kent D. Jarrett; son and daughter-in-law, J. Adam and Rebecca Jarrett; grandchildren, Austin and Samantha Jarrett; sisters, Beverly Bennett, Judy Conger, Sheila Thomas and Sharon Whitson; brothers, Douglas Akins and Tony Akins; and numerous other loving family. She was preceded in death by a son, Justin Jarrett; and parents, Edna “Frances” Murphy and Jesse Akins. There will be a memorial gathering at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, on Thursday, Sept. 29, from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. The gathering will resume at the funeral home Friday, Sept. 30, from noon until a memorial service at 1 p.m. Entombment will be in Hope Haven Garden of Memory Mausoleum in Gonzales.
