

Percy Peter Vicknair Jr., born August 28, 1948, in New Orleans, La and a lifelong native of Garyville, Louisiana, passed away on June 26, 2026, at the age of 77. Percy was known as a heart that was always younger than his years. A devoted sports fan, Percy proudly cheered on LSU, the New Orleans Saints, and the New York Yankees. In his spare time, he also enjoyed trips to the casino and enjoyed life. Percy dedicated over 40 years of hard work to Dupont Chemical, where he built a long and respected career before retiring. His strong work ethic and commitment provided for his family and stood as an example of dedication and perseverance.
He is survived by his loving wife, Nichelle B. Vicknair, and his four children: Kendall Vicknair, Kelly Delbasty, Kerry Vicknair, and Mackenzie Vicknair. An amazing grandfather to five grandchildren; Paige & Morgan Delbasty, Colby, Christian and Braydon Vicknair and one great-grandchild Millie Vicknair.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Percy Peter Vicknair Sr. and Alva May Lassere Vicknair, as well as his siblings Penny LaBranche, Patricia Scholl, Paul Vicknair, and Phil Vicknair.
Percy will be remembered for his youthful spirit, his stories, and his constant desire to stay active and connected. His presence will be deeply missed, but the memories he created and the conversations he shared will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at Ourso Funeral Home, 13533 Airline Hwy. Gonzales, LA 70737, beginning at 9:00 AM- 11:00 AM. The Memorial Service to follow starting at 11:00 AM.
