

He was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, woodworking, and had a knack for building things but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.
He worked as a welder, maintenance supervisor, and maintenance coordinator with Turner Industries and BASF where he retired after 30 + combined years in the industry.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 51 years, Connie; two daughters, Julie Bruno (Vincent) and Dana Gomez (Ryan); son, Jared Hidalgo (Kayla); six grandchildren, Colin, Anna and Abby Bruno, Gabrielle and Jackson Gomez and Adelyne Hidalgo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Mary “Ora” Hidalgo; three sisters, Melba Fontenot, Beverly Mayer and infant sister, Linda; and his brother, Vernon Hidalgo.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Pinnacle Health and Hospice for their care and compassion.
The pallbearers will be Jared Hidalgo, Vincent Bruno, Ryan Gomez, Colin Bruno, Jackson Gomez and John Vidrine.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 from 9:00 am until the Mass of Christian Burial for 11:00 am at St. Mark Catholic Church in Gonzales. Burial to follow at Holy Rosary Catholic Church Mausoleum in St. Amant.
