Richard Gayle Daigle Sr.

Richard Gayle Daigle Sr., age 75, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 11, 2014 surrounded by his family. He was a native and resident of Duplessis, LA. Gayle was an avid hunter, fisherman and farmer. Gayle’s crowning achievement and that which he was most proud of was the family he had grown. He enjoyed sharing his time with and teaching his many children and grandchildren as well as going dancing with his wife, the love of his life. He was a member of the Local 198 for 55 plus years. Gayle is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Barbara Bourque Daigle; daughters, Sondra Daigle and Jamie James, Bonita Haydel and husband Kent, Carla Beech, Linda Lively and husband Lyndon; son, Richard “Bubbie” Daigle Jr.; sister, Donna Daigle; brother, Larry Daigle; grandchildren, Chantel Beach, Jacob Schuster, Cliff, Kelly and Tucker Haydel, Vandiford, Amelia and Larson Beech, Raymond, Brandon and Mary Ann Lively, Brennan, Emily and Tyler Daigle; great grandchildren, Saige, Kye, Ella, Kenzie, Kole, Trace, Heather, Brandi, Amie, and Raymond Jr. Gayle is preceded in death by his parents, Leonce and Ruth Daigle; brother, Marc Daigle; in-laws, Mervin and Sallie Bourque and son-in-law, Doug Beech. Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at Ourso Funeral Home in Gonzales from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm. A rosary will be said at 7 pm. Visitation will resume on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church (15208 Hwy 73, Prairieville, LA 70769) from 9:15 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am. Interment will follow at Prairieville Community Cemetery. His grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
