A resident of Gonzales and retired sales associate with Neese Industries Inc., he passed away on Monday, Aug. 23, 2010, at his home. He was 77 and a native of Beeville, Texas. Visiting will be at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, on Wednesday, Aug. 25, from 9 a.m. until religious services in the chapel at 11 a.m., officiated by Dr. James B. Law. Burial to follow in Lusk Cemetery, Gonzales. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Mary Louise Dean James; two sons, Steven M. James and Jerry D. James and his wife, Justine, all of Gonzales; and two grandchildren, Allison A. James and Derek M. James. He was preceded in death by his parents, Manning and Alta Ballard James. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gonzales. He enjoyed the time he spent in his flower garden and woodworking. He was a dedicated husband, loving father and grandfather, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
