

Robert was a graduate of LSU and spent much of his working life as a Chemical Plant Operator. Beyond his career, Robert had a tremendous passion for 4-H Shooting Sports and devoted many years to teaching and mentoring young people. He served as a Louisiana State Board Vice President, State Match Director, and Level 2 Instructor. Since 2009, Robert passionately impacted thousands of youths by teaching the skills, safety, and sportsmanship involved in rifle, air rifle, and muzzleloader shooting. His dedication to the 4-H Shooting Sports program and the young people he mentored will remain an important part of his legacy.
Robert is survived by his loving wife, Kimberly Williford Braud; his children, Cameron (Emily) Braud and Cecile Braud; his stepmother, Donna Braud; his sisters, Louise (Billy) Lawson and Jennifer (Russ) Settoon; his brother, John (Mimi) Braud; as well as extended family members, friends, and the many young people whose lives he touched through 4-H.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry Braud Jr. and Dee Anna Braud.
A visitation will be at St.John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Prairieville on Friday, September 11, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. followed by a Catholic Funeral Mass at 11:30am.
Robert will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his passion for shooting sports, and especially his commitment to educating and encouraging generations of young people. The knowledge, safety, sportsmanship, and values he shared throughout the years will continue through the countless lives he influenced.
Pallbearers will be Peter Braud, Jason Cox, John Braud, Shane Lessard, Cameron Braud, and Wracy Chaney.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Ascension Parish 4-H Foundation Shooting Sports in Robert’s memory.
