A native of San Antonio, Texas, and a longtime resident of Prairieville, Louisiana, Robert worked as a lineman and high-voltage electrician. He served in the United States Army for four years and retired from Vulcan Chemicals after 25 years of service.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Mary Jane Cedotal Charles.He is also survived by his three children, Larry Joseph Blanchard Jr. and spouse Stacie Benoit, Michelle G. Blanchard Braud and spouse Lynn Braud, and Rob D. Charles and fiancée Brandie Broussard.
Grandchildren: Jessica Blanchard, Joey Braud and spouse Carrie Braud, Brittany Pete and spouse Ronnie Pete, Caitlin Stewart, Bree McCrory, and Rani Charles.Great-grandchildren: Brayden, Nathan, Maci Braud, Greyce, Remy Pete, Liam, and Aaron Stewart.Brother: Edward Charles.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hector and Alicia Charles, and his brothers, Harry Charles and Dennis Charles.
Visitation will be held at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 15208 Highway 73, Prairieville, Louisiana 70769, on November 10, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at the same location from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
A committal service will take place on November 10, 2026, at Hope Haven Garden of Memory Mausoleum, 37577 Duplessis Rd., Prairieville, LA.
