It is with an immeasurable amount of sadness that we announce the passing of Robert "Bobby" Bernard Esposito on November 5th, 2024 at the age of 70 years old.
Bobby was born August 31st, 1954 to James & Yvonne Esposito in New Orleans, LA, the middle child of 4 siblings.
To know Bobby was to know what kindness and sincerity truly means. While he was large in stature, he was infinite in heart. It didn't matter who you were, Bobby would give you a seat at his table, the shirt off his back, or anything else you need, while never asking for anything in return.
That's really the sum of his persona, love. He loved his wife, his children, his grandchildren, his friends, and his dogs. Those were the cornerstones of what made Bobby so special to us all.
With an over 40 year marriage to the love of his life, Peggy Esposito, his marriage was an echo of the values he held in his heart and in his life. His unconditional love for his wife was often times so radiant that you almost envied it. She was his muse, and up until his last days he never let her go a day without knowing his love for her.
Bobby was however most importantly, a father. His daughter Kimberly inherited his kind soul and endless compassion. All the greatest qualities of who he was got passed down directly to her.
He raised two men with conviction and grace, molding Jerome "JJ" Mayo and Tanner Mayo into the men they are, men who now carry the flame of the man he was.
For the men he raised and the love he showed them, that love was amplified even higher to their children. PawPaw Bobby was even more immensely special man to be around. Jay, Jake, Cooper, Silvia, Lennox, Reese, Baylor, and the late Anthony were blessed beyond measure to have him.
Football was such a large part of Bobby's life, playing and being a fan. For his teddy bear demeanor in life, he was a different Bobby on the football field as an outside linebacker throughout his early life and high school. His love for the New Orleans Saints even through all the trials and tribulations of the team never wavered. You could catch him standing up and yelling at the tv every Sunday during the season. An avid fisherman, Bobby always felt at home on the water, whether he was catching anything or not, and he loved to share his passions with others.
While we can't ever fill the hole in our hearts that has been left by his passing, we will continue to carry on every day and honor the memory of the man that was Bobby Esposito.
