Robert Joseph Heath

Robert J. “Sonny Big Bob” Heath, passed away January 16, 2016 at his residences in Gonzales, LA. Mr. Heath was retired after 27 years of service from BASF Geismar Plant where he was employed as an Operator after his retirement from BASF, Mr. Heath worked for Ascension Parish Government as an Inspector. Mr. Heath was an Army Veteran. He also loved coaching football and softball over the years.

Mr. Heath attended St. Anthony School, Catholic High, Marion Institute Military College. He enjoyed being involved with WWII Military Planes, Preserving Military Equipment and Military Heritage. He also enjoyed cooking and caring for his dogs.

Mr. Heath leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 25 years; Shirley Foster Heath of Gonzales; five daughters, Darlene (Willie) Lamendola of Gonzales, Donna (Jeff) Hutchinson of French Settlement, Tracy (Holly) Heath of Gonzales, Darlene (Cody) Marchand of St. Amant, Sharon (Dennis) Henderson of Livingston; one son Robert “Lil Bob” (Alice) Heath of Gonzales.

He was well loved by all and will be sorely missed.

Visitation will be today 5 to 8PM with a Rosary at 6PM, in Ourso Funeral Home, 13533 Airline Hwy, Gonzales, LA 70737. And from 9AM till services Monday Jan. 18 at St Theresa of Avila Catholic Church, 10 AM Fr. Jason Palermo and Decon Jimmy Little officiate, with interment immediately following at the Stevens Family Cemetery.
