Rose Marchand passed away on Monday, July 25, 2022 at the age of 95. She was a native of Taylorville, Illinois and a resident of Carville, Louisiana. Rose enjoyed working in her flower beds, picking pecans and cooking lunch for her family every Saturday. She is well known for the time spent working at Wintz Meat Market. She is survived by her children, Rodney Marchand (Susie), Paul Marchand (Heather), and daughter-in-law Debbie Marchand; grandchildren, Amanda Falgout (Jake), Cory Marchand (Amber), Gabriel Marchand, Kayla Racca (Shay), Kandice Dencausse (Printice), and Kolby Marchand (Olivia). She is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren, 1 great great-grandchild, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Weldom “Buddy” Marchand; parents, George and Suzie Helmers; and son, James “Jimmy” Marchand. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 3625 LA-75, St Gabriel, LA 70776, on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held prior to mass from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Interment will immediately follow mass at St. Gabriel Cemetery.
