Roy Melancon

A lifelong resident of Sorrento, he passed away Thursday, Sept. 22, 2011, at age 89. He is survived by his sons, Joseph Keith Melancon and wife Mary, and John Neil Melancon and wife Cathy; daughter, Mary Wheat and husband Chris; grandchildren, Brian Melancon, Mirrion Moran, JoAnn Melancon, Jeremy Melancon, Jason Wheat, Heidi Akin, Justin Melancon, Renee Melancon and Jonathan Melancon; great-grandchildren, Brianna Moran, Nicole Johnson, Kelsi Johnson, Brad Akin Jr., Jordan Melancon, William Melancon, Jacelyn Wheat and Royce Wheat; sister, Louella Andermann; and a brother, Joseph Taylor Melancon. Preceded in death by his wife, Doris Arceneaux Melancon; parents, Eva Tullier and Joseph Melancon; and brothers, Miller, Victor and Roland Melancon. Visitation at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, on Sunday, Sept. 25, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation at St. Anne Catholic Church, Sorrento, on Monday, Sept. 26, from 9 a.m. until a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., with the Rev.
