

A native of Waynesboro, Mississippi and a resident of Gonzales, Roy passed away at his residence, Friday, June 24, 2016 at 11:27 pm at the age of 68. He was a retired boilermaker/welder having worked at Borden Chemical. A visitation will be held at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and will resume on Thursday, June 30, 2016 from 8:00 AM until religious services at 10:30 AM in the chapel conducted by Rev. Bobby Bryer. Burial will follow at Galvez Pentecostal Church Cemetery in Galvez. Roy is survived by his wife, Judy Villar Sholmire, 1 daughter and son-in-law: Amy and Brent Conerly, 3 sons and 1 daughter-in-law: Troy Sholmire, Robert and Dawn Ruiz Sholmire, Brian Sholmire and fiance' Bridget King all of Gonzales, 1 sister: Linda Cannon of Gonzales, Mother-in-law: Ruby Templet Villar of Gonzales, 15 grandchildren: Logan, Cody, Carolann, Chase, Justin, Jayce,, Jadah, Dylan, Lennon, Callie, Jake, Shianne, Mason, Gabe and Luke, 3 great grandchildren: Braidyn, Kyla, Brynlie and 2 on the way and numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. He is preceded in death by his parents: Milton L.B. Sholmire and Opal Aten Sholmire, 2 sisters: Alma Sholmire and Sandra Roberts, 1 brother: Lewis Sholmire and father-in-law: Clyde J.
