Ruby Hebert Roth

A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, she passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2015, at the age of 89. She was a lifelong resident of Gonzales and the owner of Roth’s Food Center. Ruby was also a past member of Gonzales Garden Club, Rotarians, and the St. Theresa Catholic Daughters and Bereavement Committee. She was well known for her Southern hospitality and for her love of cooking for family and friends.

Ruby is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Darla Roth Rye and Jamie; sons and daughters-in-law, Nelson "Snoop" Roth Jr. and Frances, Ricky Roth and Laurie; grandchildren, Brooke Gautreau, Morgan Thibodeaux, Nelson "Trey" Roth III, Zackary Roth, Olivia Roth, Emily Rye, Hunter Roth; and great grandchildren, Parker Gautreau, Conner Gautreau, Cohen Thibodeaux, Nate Thibodeaux.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Nelson Roth, Sr.; parents, Armand and Lillian Dupuy Hebert; sisters, Hilda Hebert Graham, Alma Hebert Millet, Wilma Hebert Arceneaux and Doris Hebert Melancon; and brothers, Vernon, Armand Jr., Windom and Wilman Hebert.

There will be a visitation at St. Theresa of Avila Church in Gonzales, Friday, July 31, 2015, from 9:00 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Eric Gyan, celebrant. Entombment will be in Hope Haven Garden of Memory Cemetery in Gonzales.

Pallbearers will be ""Trey"" Roth, Clint Gautreau, Zackary Roth, Hunter Roth, Adam Thibodeaux, John A. Berthelot, James “Gilley” Berthelot, and Mike Hebert.

The family would like to thank her longtime caregivers Reba LeBlanc and Tina Braud for their compassion and excellent care they have given over the past years.
