

A devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, he passed away on Thursday, May 15, 2014 at his home in Gonzales. He was 80 and a graduate of Dutchtown High School. He loved to hunt, fish and spend time with his grandson Cameron at the camp, working his garden and dancing his feet off. He was a former musician having played the trumpet. His grandchildren brought immense joy to his life and loved every minute he could spend with them. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Margueritte Causey Landry; daughters, Sonya Denise Landry, Vickie Darlene Landry, and Sabrina Landry Cenac; son, Russell James Landry, Jr.; sister, Leatrice Munson; grandchildren, Nicole Dionne Breaux, Rockelle Frederic All, Jonte Templet Smith, Britnee Deshea Kling, Caroline Elise Landry, and Cameron James Landry; and great grandchildren, Kori and Blaycen Breaux, Rhece Melancon, Brodee, Hudson, and Corbin All, Marlee, Lainey, and Presley Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leuce and Lucette Landry; sisters, Hazel Landry and Lela Mae Walton; brother, Gene Landry; and a great grandson Tristen Breaux. Visiting will be at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales on Sunday, May 18, 2014 from 5 pm to 9 pm. Visiting will resume at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Prairieville, from 9:30 am until Funeral Service at 11:30 am. Entombment to follow in Hope Haven Cemetery, Gonzales. Pallbearers will be Bert All, Dustin Smith, John C. "Buddy" Munson, Jr., Paul Cook, Truvy Argrave, Jr., and Don Fontenot. Cameron Landry will serve as honorary pallbearer.
