

Sandra Smith Petite, 85, of Prairieville, Louisiana, passed away on June 24, 2026. Born on September 22, 1940, in Dutchtown, Louisiana, Sandra was the daughter of the late Kenneth L. Smith and Doris Arceneaux Smith.
She spent much of her career as a dedicated medical clerk, faithfully serving others with kindness and compassion.
Sandra was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Her greatest joy in life was her family. She loved cooking delicious meals and treasured every opportunity to spoil her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, creating countless memories they will cherish forever.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roy Petite; her parents, Kenneth L. Smith and Doris Arceneaux Smith; her brother, Kenneth P. Smith; and her granddaughter, Jon -Clair Petite and great granddaughter, Lundy Petite.
She is survived by her four children: Lisa Petite, Blaine Petite (Becky), Dale Petite, and Rhett Petite (Leah). She also leaves behind ten grandchildren: Blaine Petite, Kahn Petite, Reed Petite, Ace Petite, Laken Petite, Luke Petite, Jessie Petite, Jossie Petite, Lawson Petite, and Louie Petite. Sandra was additionally blessed with fourteen great-grandchildren: Barrett, Demi and Beckett Petite; Easton and Grant Petite; Ella Guillot, Locke, Lane, Lillie and Lucy Petite; and Sadie, Paisley, Rhett and Leah Petite.
She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Visitation will be held at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church on Monday, June 29, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., with a Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 11:00 a.m., celebrated by Father Pravin. Entombment will follow at Hope Haven Mausoleum.
Serving as pallbearers will be Blaine Petite, Kahn Petite, Reed Petite, Ace Petite, Laken Petite, Luke Petite, Lawson Petite, and Louie Petite. Honorary pallbearers are Barrett Petite and Locke Petite.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors and nurses of St. Elizabeth’s ICU for their exceptional care, compassion, and support during Sandra’s final days.
