

Sharron Lynn Banks Savell, age 78, a resident of Sunrise at Siegen in Baton Rouge, Louisiana passed away on December 25, 2016 from complications of Pulmonary Fibrosis. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Mrs. Savell on Thursday, December 29, 2016, 11:00 am at St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church in Gonzales. Visitation will take place at the church starting at 9:00 am and continuing until services begin at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Hope Haven Cemetery in Gonzales. Born in Philadelphia, Mississippi, she was the youngest child of Sharp W. Banks, Sr. and Nannie Jackson Banks. Sharron was a graduate of Philadelphia High School and attended Hines Junior College in Jackson, Mississippi where she was a High Stepper. Sharron was a long time resident of Gonzales, Louisiana. She enjoyed traveling and was a member of the Gonzales Committee of Cultural Affairs and hosted many French and German guests with the Twinning Committee. She was a longtime season ticket holder for LSU Football and enjoyed attending games with family and friends. Sharron was an avid bridge player and enjoyed playing with many friends at the bridge table. Sharron loved the Neshoba County Fair and was always happy to welcome friends to her cabin and enjoy the Fair experience. She received her Notary Public Commission and served as a Notary in Ascension Parish for many years. She was a longtime member of Beta Sigma Phi, achieving the Torchbearer degree, she received many honors and recognitions including Woman of the Year, Chapter Sweetheart and Order of the Rose. Sharron truly lived Life, Learning and Friendship. Sharron is survived by her husband of 60 years, Larry Savell; three children Sandy and Denis Taylor, Rhonda and Tim Perdue and Greg and Laura Savell; six grandchildren Christopher and Stephanie Perdue, Sarah and Michael (Red) Jones, Branden Taylor, Austin Taylor, Chad Taylor and Charles Savell; six great grandchildren Walter Jones, Julie, Jaime, Tony, Patrick and Andrew Perdue. Sharron was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Sharp W Banks, Jr. and Harry Glenn Banks and granddaughter Natalie Corkern.
