Shirley “June” Chapman Farmer, 68, of French Settlement, LA, was called home on August 14, 2023, after battling lung cancer and lung infections as hard as she could. June retired from Supreme Chevrolet in Gonzales, LA. She adored her work family and spoke of them often and highly. June was a member of the Southside Church of Christ in Gonzales, LA, where she had built a spiritual family that she loved dearly. To her friends, June was authentic and sassy, someone that you could speak to without judgment and could always count on to give sound advice. To her family, she was the baby sister, goofy aunt, eye-roll-inducing maw-maw, always-right wife, and adoring mother. June was her husband’s rock, her son’s safe place, and her daughter’s best friend. She was preceded in death by her parents Stanley Luther and Myra Pauline Jones Chapman, father-in-law Bernard Farmer “Big PaPaw”, and sisters, Virginia “Carol” Miller and Glenda “Kay” Loneragon. She is survived by her husband of 38 years Terry Landon Farmer; son Landon Daniel Farmer and wife Mandie; daughter Misty Danielle Farmer Tircuit and husband Tommy; grandson Allynn Wayne Tircuit; granddaughter Railynn Danielle Farmer; brother Alvin Chapman and wife Cindy; sisters Phyllis DeLisle and husband Craig and, Myra Pringle; mother-in-law Sadie Joan Farmer; sister-in-law Bernadine Farmer; brother-in-law Gerald Farmer; best friend Patience Rock Pollet and many more family and friends. Thank you to the doctors and nurses of Our Lady of the Lake Baton Rouge, Baton Rouge Clinic, and Louisiana Hematology and Oncology who treated June and her family with tenderness and care. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service which will be held at Ourso Funeral Home in Gonzales, LA, on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, from 4 pm - 7 pm. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to cancer research of your choice. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.oursofh.com for the Farmer family.
