Shirley Ann Roedts, age 89, of Holden, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born to Harold Hughes and Dee West Hughes. Shirley was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Robert "Bob" Roedts Jr, and her parents. Shirley will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her children: Brenda (Andy) Andress, Lynda (Jonathan) Warner, and Robert (Blenda) Roedts; her 3 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren. Shirley's life was a testament to her faith and love for Jesus Christ. She was an active member of Calvary Christian Center, where she served on the prayer team and dedicated her time to missionary work in Honduras for nearly 8 years. Her passion for serving others extended beyond borders, and her compassion touched countless lives. Shirley was a talented and creative soul. She found joy in sewing, making jewelry, gardening, knitting, and crocheting. Her hands were always busy creating beautiful pieces, and her warm spirit radiated through every stitch and design. More than her hobbies, Shirley will be remembered for her infectious smile, her comforting hugs, and her unwavering love for those around her. Despite facing challenges, she always maintained a positive outlook on life, her glass forever half full to overflowing. A visitation to honor Shirley's life will be held on Sunday, February 25, 2024, from 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM at Calvary Christian Center, located at 118 N Richardson St., Hammond, LA. A funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM, also at Calvary Christian Center. Shirley will be laid to rest at Amite Memorial Gardens, 114 Gullett St, Amite City, LA, following the funeral service at 4:00 PM. Shirley's legacy of faith, love, and kindness will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. May she rest in eternal peace.
