A native of Alabama and a lifelong resident of Gonzales, she entered into her eternal kingdom on Saturday, May 15, 2021, just a day shy of her 58th birthday. Sondra was known as a beloved wife, mother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, niece, cousin and friend, but her most cherished role was as Nana to her precious grandson Daxx. She was also a loyal and dedicated employee of Gonzales Hardware for 40 years.
Visitation will be held at St. Theresa of Avila in Gonzales on Wednesday, May 19 from 9 a.m.until her Celebration of Life Mass at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Eric Gyan.
She is survived by husband Luke Marchand; daughters, Courtne' Marie Lee (and fiance' Logan Metcalfe) and Carli Joyce Lee; grandson Daxx Jerome Lee; sister and brother-in-law, Terri and John Scanlan; father Gerald “Jerry” Ramirez and wife Anita; mothers-in-law, Paulette Lee and Annabelle Lee; Godchildren Steven Crowe and Damon Scanlan; and numerous brothers- and sisters-in-law from both the Lee and Marchand families and a host of nieces and nephews. She took great pride in her role as a Godmother and as step-in Paran to Landon Braud and Dustin Guedry. She is preceded in death by her husband, David Jerome Lee; mother, Debra Ramirez; fathers-in-law Smitty J. Lee and Dalton Marchand; mother-in-law Lillie Marchand; and grandparents Kenneth and Joyce Lee.
Sondra’s infectious smile and kindheartedness was easily recognized by all who came into contact with her. She was a spunky fashion diva who lived life to the fullest and brought joy to her circle of family and friends. She loved LSU football and showed her pride while watching the Tigers play every Saturday. On Sunday you could always find her cheering on the New Orleans Saints. Sondra dedicated her life to her two daughters and Although slight in stature, Sondra’s faith in Christ was tremendous and the cornerstone of her life. She treasured her special relationship with Sister Dulce Maria and found great comfort in their bond. Sondra was a model of the Christian virtues of faith, love and peace and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Ourso Funeral Home in Gonzales in charge of arrangements.
