Stephen Paul Lambert, 58, a resident of French Settlement, passed away on Monday, July 16, 2018. Born on November 18, 1959, Stephen lived his life in the joy of the small things and in selfless acts of kindness to others. His love for animals (especially rescues) and his horse “Roy”, his concern for the elderly, and the thoughtfulness with which he treated everyone are the hallmarks of his life well lived. A graduate of Live Oak High School in Watson and Nicholls State University, Stephen was a U.S. Army veteran and a ten year employee with the Louisiana State Attorney General’s Office. The kindness and beauty of Stephen’s spirit will be remembered by those he leaves behind, his companion and loving partner of over thirty years Craig Sampognaro; his mother Jackie Malbrough Ricca and step father Victor “Butch” Raymond Ricca; sisters Sha McGowan Carter and husband Howard, Lori McGowan, and Kim McGowan Lambert and Husband Dempsey; nephews Coby, Spencer, Chase and Garrett. Stephen is preceded in death by his adopted father Isaac “Mack” McGowan; and grandparents Rosina Hutchinson Malbrough and Jean “Jack” Malbrough. Visitation will be held at Ourso Funeral Home in Gonzales, LA on Saturday, July 21, 2018 from 9:00am until service time at 11:00am. Interment will follow in Lake Chapel Cemetery.
