Terry DuBois

Terry loved his family above all else. His greatest joy was the time spent with his wife, children, grandchildren, and those he held dear.

He was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a telephone man to the core. Over more than 45 years at EATEL, Terry was the person you called when something needed to get done — and he was always available. He took great pride in his work and built lifelong friends while doing it. He and his work family managed dozens of natural disasters and other emergencies over the years, each one teaching lessons that made them better prepared for the next.

Terry was a lifelong deer hunter who was always happy when he was in the woods. He hunted with many friends over the years, but for the past 35 years it was the same small group at Flat Ridge — a camp that gave him a lifetime of stories, most of which he was glad to tell more than once. The times his children and grandchildren joined him there meant more to him than anything he brought home.

Terry is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Roberta Schexnaydre DuBois; his children, Trenton DuBois (Sarah), Toby DuBois (Fran), Todd DuBois (Kristen), and Meche DuBois (Adam); and his 13 grandchildren, Taylor DuBois, Bailey Ducote, Cami Ducote, Preston Charles, Amelia DuBois, Josie DuBois, Demi DuBois, Samuel “Sam” DuBois, Lily DuBois, Trace DuBois, Zoe Rickels, Lawson Mansur, and Cade Mansur.

He is also survived by his sister, Gwen Hinds (Pat); his brothers, Tandy DuBois and Tyler DuBois (Michael); and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Edna Garner Yates; his father, Julius DuBois, Jr.; and his sister, Deborah DuBois Seal.

A Celebration of Life for Terry will be held on Friday, September 4, 2026, at Ourso Funeral Home, 13533 Airline Hwy, Gonzales, Louisiana. The memorial gathering will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the memorial service at 11:00 a.m. Inurnment will follow at Hope Haven Cemetery, 604 E. Hwy 30, Gonzales, Louisiana.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the ICU team and staff at Baton Rouge General Hospital for their love, care, and support during Terry’s final days.

Terry was a simple man, but the love he gave his family was anything but small. He leaves behind a lifetime of memories and a family who will carry his love with them always. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
