Terry Paul Vicknair, a resident of Maurepas, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 6, 2026, at the age of 69. He was a loving husband, devoted father, proud grandfather, and loyal friend.
Terry was a good man with a strong work ethic and a loyal heart. His career and his passion were one and the same—crabbing. He took great pride in his work and in the life he made along the waterways of South Louisiana. He was a hardworking man who believed in providing for his family and doing things the right way.
Terry’s greatest joy, however, was his family. He treasured his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandson and took pride in watching his family grow. His love and devotion to them were evident in everything he did.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Vicki Bourgeois Vicknair; daughter, Jenae Vicknair Miles (Lucas); son, Justin Vicknair (Amber); sister, Cynthia Vicknair; brother, Gary Vicknair (Patty); grandchildren, Hannah Goodman (Mason), Christian Vicknair (Marley), Kadin Vicknair, Prestin Vicknair, Sydnie Burkes, Dawson Winburn, Kenna Grace Miles, Malloy Miles, Mylee Miles, Abree Miles, and Aniston Miles; and great-grandson, Mason James Vicknair. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Amaluce Vicknair Jr. and Bertha Brignac Vicknair, and his grandson, Mason Vicknair.
Services for Terry will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at St. Stephen Catholic Church, Maurepas, Louisiana. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Whitehall Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Christian Vicknair, Kadin Vicknair, Prestin Vicknair, Dawson Winburn, Chase Brignac, Mason Goodman, and Wade Bercegeay. Donnie Jones and Mike Brignac will serve as honorary pallbearers.
