Theresa Mae Young Gautreau

Theresa Mae Young Gautreau passed away on April 25, 2025 at the age of 91. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many. She was born on March 6, 1934 in Gonzales, LA to Sam & Corrine Young. Theresa has now rejoined her parents and her late husband Lowell Gautreau in their heavenly home. She was also preceded in death by her grandson Zachary Ryan Gautreau and her siblings; Sitman Young, Mervin Young, Alvin Young, Jeanette Y. Acaldo, Geneva Y. Gautreau, Mary Ann Y. Holton and Joyce Y. Gautreau. She is survived by her children; Gary Gautreau, Glenn Gautreau, Sharon G. May (Ricky), Mark Gautreau and Bart Gautreau (Judy), her grandchildren; Patrick Gautreau (Chrissy)and Brock Clark and her sister Beverly Y. Rouyea. Theresa is also survived by numerous family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

Theresa had the kindest soul and loved with all her heart. She enjoyed being outdoors, especially when fishing or tending to her flowers in the yard. She also enjoyed relaxing with a puzzle or crocheting. Her warm and heartfelt hugs and kisses will be sorely missed.

Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral at Ourso Funeral Home, 13533 Airline Hwy Gonzales, LA 70737, on Wednesday, April 30, 2025. The visitation will begin at 9 AM with the service beginning at 11AM. Theresa will be laid to rest at Hope Haven Garden of Memory in Gonzales.
