Dr. Theresa Flowers Gosik, 56, a native of Enola, Pennsylvania, passed away on October 17, 2025 in her Sorrento, Louisiana home. She was born on February 26 1969, daughter of the late Thomas and Theresa (McCaffery) Flowers, and is survived by her husband of 30 years, Douglas Gosik, sisters Suzanne Pifer and Bridgette Hilbish and their families, and brothers John and Joe Flowers and their families.
Theresa was a 1987 graduate of East Pennsboro High School, and earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (with honors) from the Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2006. Upon graduation she practiced veterinary medicine at the East York Veterinary Center in York, Pennsylvania, until 2009, when she purchased the Ark Veterinary Clinic in Donaldsonville, Louisiana. She owned and operated the Ark until her passing, but also provided emergency veterinary services at the Cypress Lake Animal Hospital in Prairieville, Louisiana.
From an early age Theresa’s passion leaned towards animals and their care, which provided the impetus for her to become a veterinarian. She realized that goal with much hard work and an unrelenting determination, and with love and support from her mother and her husband. She was fortunate to be incredibly fulfilled by her work for her entire career.
Throughout her life Theresa had assisted a wide variety of animal rescue and welfare organizations, but her other interests included travel (particularly to beach locales and cruises), gardening, socializing with friends and loved ones, and dancing – she loved to dance. In fact, in the early 1990’s through the early 2000’s, prior to becoming a veterinarian, her love of music and dancing led to Theresa becoming a striking presence as a nightclub bartender at several establishments, including Metropolis/Metron in Harrisburg, The Village Nightclub in Lancaster, and Nightlife in Baton Rouge.
Although heartbroken and devastated by her passing, her husband and family remain forever grateful to have loved and been loved by this strong, beautiful and brilliant lady. She’ll forever be in their hearts, and will be terribly missed.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 27th, at the Hoover Funeral Home in Hershey, Pennsylvania, with internment in the Hershey Cemetery on October 28th.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Dante’s Hope Animal Rescue.
