Thomas Meche

Thomas Meche, a native and resident of Rayne LA died on April 8, 2022, at the age of 76. Tommy was an honest man who would help you in any way that he could. He was an avid LSU Football and New Orleans Saints fan and was named their unofficial couch coach by his son. He loved his children, grandchildren and family without end. He was raised the son of a rice farmer where he learned his strong work ethic. He was an oil field roughneck and driller early on and later ran his own company; building wireline units until his retirement. He loved cooking for his family, tinkering with projects and discussing current political happenings. He was preceded in death by his father, Forrest “Blu” Meche; mother, Regina Meche; brothers, Gerald Meche, Perry Meche and Forrest Meche. He was survived by his sisters, Gail Guilbeau of Lafayette, Ena Robin of Duson, Vicky Meche of Duson and brother, Byron Meche of Rayne. His son, Cody Meche and wife, Karen of Livingston and daughter, Rachael Huffman of Mississippi. Granddaughters Tristyn Meche of Baton Rouge and PapaNanny to Braelyn Westbrook of Lafayette. A family memorial will be held at a later date in Lafayette, La.
