Timothy "Tim" Charles O'Daniel

On his 61st birthday, he peacefully took his final breath. Though our hearts are broken, there is comfort in knowing that he was surrounded by his family and held in the love that meant so much to him.

He fought cancer with incredible strength and courage. Through every difficult moment, he continued to love his family, share his laughter, and remain the man they had always known him to be. His battle may have been difficult, but his spirit never stopped shining.

He was a man whose love could be felt in the way he cared for his family, the stories he shared, the laughter he brought into a room, and the music that came from his heart. To his wife, he was a devoted husband and lifelong companion. To his children, he was a loving father, a source of strength, guidance, and unconditional love. And to his grandchildren, he was simply Paw Paw—a name filled with memories, hugs, laughter, and a love they will carry with them forever.

Music was more than something he enjoyed—it was a part of who he was. His voice had a way of bringing people together, and when he sang, he gave a little piece of his heart to everyone listening. His songs will continue to live on in the memories of those who were lucky enough to hear him.

He taught his family many things, but perhaps his greatest lesson was how to love deeply, laugh often, cherish family, and make the most of the time we are given. Cancer may have taken his final breath, but it never took his courage, his love, or the beautiful legacy he leaves behind.

Now his suffering is over, and he can rest peacefully. He will forever be loved, forever missed, and never forgotten.

His voice may be silent, but his song will never end.

He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Dana; sons, Shane (Bonnie) and Shawn (Melissa); beloved grandchildren, Bentley, Bradey "Sweetie Pie", Weston, Avery “Pretty Girl”, Austin, Landon, Braxton, and Reid; brothers-in-law, Duane (Renee), Dwight (Cindy) and Joey Pittman, and Johnny Johnson; sister-in-law, Anne Walker; brothers, Richard Bridges and Tommy Edds; sister, Suzanne Cook; and mother-in-law, Jan Johnson, along with countless nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Starling; sister, Pamela; brother, Jimmy; and grandmother, Vercie Lee Taylor.

Pallbearers will be Shane and Shawn O'Daniel, Duane and Dwight Pittman, John Shaheen "Shop", and Christopher Williamson. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Decaire, and Weston and Austin O'Daniel.

Visitation will be at Ourso Funeral Home in Gonzales, LA on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at 9:00 AM with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at 11:00 AM. A Committal Service will take place afterwards at Serenity Oaks in Prairieville, LA.
