Vickie Ruth Womack

Vickie Ruth Womack passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2025, surrounded by her family. After collecting a lifetime of memories and brightening the lives of her friends and family, the Lord was ready to call her home. While the family is overwhelmed with grief, they are comforted knowing she is now healed, at peace, and resting in the arms of Jesus. Vickie was born on May 20, 1965, in Greensburg, La, where she spent most of her youth. She put down roots in Prairieville, LA, where she raised her beloved daughter, Ashley. Her husband, Jeff, was the love of her life, and his passing in 2016 left a void in her heart. Vickie loved fishing and spending time with her family. In the fall, you could find her yelling at the tv rooting for her favorite football teams. Vickie was a devoted mother and grandmother, loving wife, and caring daughter. She was everyone’s biggest supporter in all aspects of life. She loved her family fiercely. She spent the last three years in the care of her daughter as she fought and beat cancer and overcame many obstacles as a result of her battle. She celebrated two years of remission in 2024. She is survived by her mother, Sharon Cowart, daughter, Ashley Arceneaux Chidester (Seth); sons, Mark, Michael (Paulina), and Daniel Serou; grandchildren, Kayden, Sean, Aiden, Katie, Eli, Olivia, and Wesley Claire; and nephews, Cody and Caleb Strahan. She is proceeded in death by her husband, Jeff Serou; her sister, Tina Compton; father, Herbert Cowart; and granddaughter, Lauren Elizabeth Chidester. Services will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Household of Faith, Mt. Zion Campus 17683 La 933, Prairieville, LA 70769. Visitation will be from 9 am until service at 10 am.
