

Victor Emanuel Rene’ passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 19, 2025, at the age of 106. He was a proud veteran of World War II and the Korean War, having honorably served in the United States Army, where he retired in 1963 as a Chief Warrant Officer II. Following his distinguished military career, he retired from the Eastman Kodak Company. Victor was a positive influence on everyone he met — always memorable, always ready to share a laugh, and often found expressing his joy through music as a jazz band musician. He and his beloved wife were devoted square dance partners for over 65 years, bringing joy and rhythm wherever they went. He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Margie Rene’; his son, Roger Rene’; daughter, Linda Truit; brother, Julius Rene’; sister, Carmen Hafslund; and granddaughter, Misty Richard. He is survived by his daughters, Susan (Elson) Richard and Kathy (Jon) Gravley; his son-in-law, Vern Truit; four grandchildren, Vickie Truit, Sherry Stern, Victor “Vic” Gravley (Theresa), and Cami Wall (Ryland); twelve great-grandchildren; twelve great-great-grandchildren; one great-great-great-grandchild; his niece, Emmy (Steve) Scarano; and many cherished great- and great-great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Victor will be held on Friday, October 24, 2025, at St. Mark Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. He will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife at Santa Clara Catholic Cemetery in Santa Clara, California, on November 4, 2025.
