William G. "Bill" Allison

After an 8-year battle with Alzheimer’s, William G. “Bill” Allison passed away into the loving arms of his Saviour, Jesus Christ, peacefully in his sleep on Friday, September 11, 2026, at the age of 75.

Billy was born on June 26, 1951 in New Orleans to Wilhelmina “Willie” Theresa Jorns Allison and Thomas Edward Allison. He lived in his beloved St. Bernard Parish until Hurricane Katrina in August, 2005, when he moved his family to Ascension Parish. Bill attended school at Our Lady of Prompt Succor, Trist Middle School, and graduated from Chalmette High School in 1969, where he was a photographer for the school newspaper.

He began his career as a carpenter’s helper, working alongside his father and brother at Trade Mark Homes in New Orleans. He became a Master Carpenter and, in his late 20s, became a Construction Manager, running the jobs. During the course of his 51-year career he managed varied construction jobs including remodeling the Historic New Orleans Collection, renovating luxury condominiums, renovating many grand homes in New Orleans’ garden district, restoring a home to its original 1860s period, moving and renovating a house built in the mid-1800s formerly owned by Dr. David Livingstone, and building a doctors’ office and even a rectory. From 1995 until his retirement in 2017 he worked for Favrot and Shane (1st Lake Properties).

In 1991 Bill married Diane Theresa Beaudette, whom he met at work in 1989 at Witherspoon Renovations where he was a construction manager, when she was hired as their bookkeeper. Together they raised two remarkable boys, Bill’s pride and joy, Joshua David and Timothy Paul, whom Bill loved with all his heart. Through the years the family went on numerous camping trips and other travels, and was very active in church activities. His other love, besides his wife, were his kitty cats: Whiskers, Cindy, and Dixie. Bill shared his great sense of humor, ever-present laughter, easy-going personality, love for his family, country, and the outdoors, solid Christian faith and deep trust in God, and passion for current events with his family, friends, coworkers, and subcontractors. He held in high regard all the construction trades and appreciated the artisanship of the many talented and knowledgeable people he had the pleasure to work with through the years, often pointing out fine details of the artistry, architecture, and challenges of creating a beautiful building.

Bill leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 35 years, Diane; sons Joshua (Nicole) and Timothy (Leigh); grandchildren Liberty, William, Joshua, Jr., and Louis; sister-in-law Renee Allison; Aunt Mary Ann Jorns, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilhelmina and Thomas Allison, brother, Thomas Edward Allison, Jr., and sister, Patricia Ann Allison. The family sincerely thanks the wonderful people at The Parc Senior Living and Hospice of Baton Rouge, especially Aaron Moses and Kim Nash, for providing excellent, compassionate, and loving care to Bill during his final months this side of heaven.

Visitation will be on Saturday, September 26, 2026 at Ourso Funeral Home, 13533 Airline Highway in Gonzales starting at 9:00 a.m., followed by a service at 11:00 a.m. led by Pastor Michael Raymond of Shiloh Christian Fellowship Baptist Church. Bill will be laid to rest alongside his beloved father, mother, and sister at the St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery, 2805 Bayou Road in St. Bernard, followed by a joyful meal at Rocky and Carlos.
